This is from Jerry:
Devin, thanks for your note.
My short response is as follows,
In the 19th century Soren Kierkagarrde equally viewed the contradictions in the society around him. From his observations he came up with the three stages through which a human progresses. You are familiar with these, but they are worth repeating:
First, the human is in his aesthetic stage. They live life to get the most out of it.
However, the first stage usually fails. At that point the human moves into the ethical stage. They feel they can save the world if just everyone, beginning with themselves, can live ethically.
Ultimately, the ethical stage also fails. This also is the point where Kierkagarrde is most misunderstood. The third and final stage is when the human takes the leap of faith and falls into the arms of a loving God. Only at that point is a human sufficiently free of himself where he can live as he was created and make a real difference.
The problem and contradiction with world peace is that too many humans believe that this leap of faith is in self when actually it’s beyond self.
Our loving God came to earth, lived a perfect life, died in absolute despair, but then announced victory in which we are to live.
I know this may not be for what you’re looking, but it’s my answer to your question.

How do we achieve peace?
How do we achieve peace? That is the subject of the website peacethinking, which is dedicated to discussing how the people of the world can achieve peace, and what that peace would look like.
This blog is for people who want to comment on that website.
The website has links to more blogs which discuss specific questions about achieving a world without war.
This blog is for general questions and comments, such as suggestions about new topics to discuss.
Thanks for participating.
